How we work

Research, not hands-on testing

Every comparison is built from manufacturer documentation, user manuals and published product specifications. We check these against current UK energy tariffs to estimate running costs, so readers can see what a product is likely to cost to use at home. Because we do not test products in a laboratory, we describe our recommendations as research-based. Where information is limited or a manufacturer's claim cannot be confirmed, we say so plainly.

Our aim is to make appliance choices easier to understand, not to tell readers what to buy.

What we will never do

We do not invent reviews, testimonials, test results or statistics. Every figure we publish is attributed to its source, and every running-cost estimate shows the assumptions behind it. Comparison guides may include Amazon links. These are disclosed clearly on each post, and they do not change how a product is assessed or ranked.

Corrections are welcome. If you spot an error or a claim that needs checking, please get in touch through our contact page and we will review it.
